Tuesday May 31, 2011

This is the final week of classes! Tomorrow will be the last quiz on section 12-2 and you can hand in your book anytime after that. Check out the final exam study things on the wikispace! For the rest of the week we are going to be working on a poem, der Erlkönig, by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. A great read, hope you guys enjoy it!


Thursday – May 26, 2011

We finished a quiz on 12-1. Then worked on names of materials clothing is made if: aus Baumwolle – cotton; aus Leder – leather; aus Seide – silk. Other new words were gestreift – striped; gepunktet – poka-dotted.



Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Today we worked on finishing the erste Stufe of Kapitel 12. The hidden message from todays class was in the window.



Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Students worked alone to complete page 136 and then worked in groups of three to complete page 136b. Then we went over the strategies for making a bast participle (haben ________ ge____[e]t)
When to use the e is explained on pages 136f and 136g. Finally as a class we completed page 136d.

Friday May 20 and Monday, May 23

Students in blocks 1 and 2 on Friday and Monday worked in their Chapter 12 packets to review for the final. We completed pages
134 – 2 and 3
135 – 5
135a – all
136 – all – each verb is used once; erzählen – to explain; laufen – to run; liegen – to lay

Wednesday May 18, 2011

Today students went over expressions to say for holidays (see attached photo). We went over the past two days class work and completed workbook and Grammatikheft p94. Written project about a party is due on friday in block 2 and Thursday in block 1. There will be a quiz on Thursday May 19, 2011. The secret word for extra credit on tomorrows test is fasching! Come and tell me it for extra credit.



Tuesday – May 17

Today block 2 students are working on what they did not complete yesterday.
Block 1
Deciphering a paragraph in German, based on birthdays. Students trade their invitations they completed the class before and come up with excuses why they cannot come to the party. The last project is to make a play or a comic of a situation at a party.
